What is a Negative Surface Charge?

Each nanobubble has a powerful negative surface charge, so when multiple Nanobubbles get near each other, they function similarly to when the like poles of two magnets are forced together, they repel each other. This means that when many Nanobubbles are close together, they will be unable to fuse into a larger bubble, instead each repelling the other and spreading to new areas of a water body.
